The whole Chim Chim thing happened on a whim and as always with Earl, a kernel of humor. Thanks Push Tags for the inspiration. ~Earl
The Europeans do everything just a little bit different than us Americans and seems like they take the whole sticker show thing to a new level. Case in point is the preparation for the up coming Stick Of It All, Vol. 2 show in Spain. Peep Vidalooka’s Flickr stream to get a sneak peak http://www.flickr.com/photos/vidalooka/5888326188/in/photostream. That has to be one of the largest and nicest sticker combos ever. ~Earl
Earl x Mittenimwald collab poster on the streets of L.A.
Mittenimwald is an internationally known street artist from Hamburg, Germany with an amazing ability to capture the female form, using a minimalistic approach. Working with hand cut stencils, and usually not more than two or three primary colors, he creates his stunning works on newsprint. His signature look is completed with an aged paper effect that has taken him years to perfect. It’s a time consuming process accomplished after the stenciling work is done, and takes approximately one week for each print. Most people would agree, Miw’s unique blend of art and texture truly stands out from the rest.
Both Mittenimwald and Earl “discovered” each other on Flicker and after sharing some ideas, they determined that a collaborated effort would be an artistic match made in heaven. The poster pictured here is titled “Time Trials” and was completed prior to the Indy 500 this past Memorial Day weekend. The piece is intended to roll out the Earl Lube Industries “branding campaign”…. the first of a series of posters the two artists have planned together.
